La compañía Philip Morris ha designado a Manuel Vilches Martínez como nuevo director científico y de asuntos médicos para el mercado español. El Dr. Vilches inicia esta nueva etapa con el objetivo de seguir impulsando la investigación científica, la transparencia y la innovación responsable que promueve la compañía en su propósito de construir un futuro libre de humo.
Aporta una amplia trayectoria liderando proyectos estratégicos en el ámbito médico, institucional y de innovación sanitaria, tanto en el sector público como el privado. Ha trabajado en organizaciones de referencia como REMPe-DPS, Johnson&JohnsonMedTech ,Fundación IDIS, COFARES, Vithas Hospitales y Sanitas-BUPA, lo que le ha permitido comprender con profundidad los desafíos del ecosistema sanitario y la importancia de acercar la ciencia y la tecnología a las personas.
Como nuevo director científico y de asuntos médicos de Philip Morris en España, Vilches liderará la estrategia científica que impulsa la transformación de la compañía, lo que él ha definido como «un proyecto apasionante que combina ciencia, innovación, propósito y compromiso con la mejora de la salud pública». Desde esta posición, impulsará la integración del rigor científico, la innovación y el diálogo con la comunidad médica dentro del marco del compromiso global de Philip Morris con la reducción del riesgo y la construcción de un futuro libre de humo.
El Dr. Vilches es licenciado en Medicina y Cirugía por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, especialista en cirugía general y aparato digestivo por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid – Fundación Jiménez Díaz. Cuenta también con un MBA de la Universidad Pontificia de Comillas y un máster en Economía de la Salud y Gestión Sanitaria por la Universidad Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona, además de Programas de Alta Dirección en IESE y San Telmo Business School, y es profesor en diferentes escuelas de negocios.
